About Sally Kennedy

Sally Kennedy is a candidate for Lane Cove Council’s Central Ward, running as part of Bridget Kennedy’s Independent Team. She is third on the ticket.

Despite sharing a last name, Sally is no relation of Bridget! But she does share Bridget’s love of Lane Cove’s natural environment and community.

Sally brings organisational and management skills, a measured perspective and a love of community to the team.

Market researcher & experienced community campaigner

Sally has a successful career in the corporate sector in market and consumer research for major Australian and international brands.

She was the founder of the Lane Cove Coal and Gas Watch, a grassroots organisation developed in response to community concerns about risky coal mining, coal seam gas and fracking. In 2018, she received the 2017 Sustainable Citizen Award, for her work with the group.

She is involved in a number of grassroots community programs. She is on the organising committee for The Heroes team in the Greenwich Village Games, and has been involved with the games for 14 years.

She has also received ethics training from the St James Ethics Centre and taught ethics at Greenwich Primary School for three years.

A true Lane Cove local

Sally has lived with her sons and husband Mark in Longueville for close to 15 years and has deep family connections to Lane Cove. Her mother was born in Greenwich and returned to live there 20 years ago.

A prolific lifelong bushwalker, Sally has hiked all over the world. Her favourite local walk is Warraroon Reserve. She is also a recreational cyclist, member of a book club and enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs.

Sally is also our volunteer coordinator
