My 2024 vision

The Lane Cove Council election is coming up on Saturday 14 September. I’m running for re-election.

As an independent, my policies are driven by what Lane Cove residents have told me they want for our area.

  • I'm about activities that nurture community resilience, connection and creativity among all age groups. I'll push for:

    • More hours of community access at the Lane Cove Aquatic Centre and discounted fees for residents

    • Fair, balanced access to public space

    • Prioritised delivery of the promised multi-purpose theatre space project

    • The rebuild of Longueville’s Lucretia Baths to be a priority

    • Establishment of a community food pantry

  • I fight for the protection of our bushland and climate, and if I'm re-elected I'll:

    • Continue my push to all levels of government to increase penalties for tree vandalism and illegal removal

    • Support a strategic review of how we manage stormwater to protect our creeks and harbour

    • Continue to advocate for initiatives that support a more rapid reduction of carbon emissions in our local area

  • We need to be smart on waste, and I've got ideas on how to do it:

    • Propose council host a program of children's clothing swaps

    • Champion more community projects that support the share and circular economy

    • Continue to advocate for the council to implement innovative ways to reduce local waste sent to landfill including food organics and garden organics (FOGO) recycling

  • Community members often don't feel heard or valued and it can take too long for council to get back to you. I will

    • Continue to advocate for improved transparency and accountability in council decision-making processes

    • Work to ensure greater collaboration between Lane Cove Council and neighbouring councils on projects and initiatives that benefit us all

    • Continue to push for timely and transparent reporting on major projects to mitigate risk of potential cost blow-outs

  • We need smart development in Lane Cove that balances the needs of people and the environment now and into the future. Vote for me and I'll:

    • Support sustainable building upgrades of council-owned assets

    • Advocate for local initiatives to make homes and businesses more energy-efficient

    • Lobby the NSW Government to provide infrastructure to support increased housing density (eg. more funding for local schools, public transport, and community facilities).

    • Advocate for processes that protect bushland habitats and waterways from development impacts

  • I want to connect Lane Cove’s people and places better, and support safe active transport options like walking and cycling.

    If I'm re-elected, I'll:

    • Push for implementation of a community shuttle bus

    • Advocate to council and the NSW Government for local public transport options that are frequent, reliable and connect with each other

    • Support opportunities for active transport, including accessible footpath maintenance and better cycling infrastructure

    • Address traffic rat-runs in our area

    • Work to implement a council rebate program for the purchase or lease of e-bikes

“As your independent councillor for Lane Cove Council, I work tirelessly, with creativity and a collaborative attitude, to advocate for the local community”

The Lane Cove we love hasn’t been achieved by accident.

It’s a reflection of our community.

I enable that community to have more of a voice at council.

As an independent councillor for Lane Cove Council, I work tirelessly, with creativity and a collaborative attitude, to advocate for local residents and businesses.

My husband and I have chosen to build our life and raise our children here because we value the green environment, people, community, and convenience.

But our area isn’t immune to the pressures of a rapidly growing Sydney.

I work alongside Lane Cove residents and businesses to develop practical and creative solutions to improve our area and maintain what we love about it for residents now and in the future.
