I was honoured to be invited to speak at the Lane Cove Historical Society at their AGM about one of my favourite topics - WASTE! Ok, I get that it’s probably a bit of a daggy subject to many but I’m passionate about ways in which we can see waste as resource. We often throw out SO MANY things that have value, including food and organic waste. Waste is something that connects us all!

Last night was an important night for our community with some certainty on the delivery of a much-longed for Lane Cove Sports and Recreation Centre. It was voted to proceed to tender at the ordinary council meeting. There was a lot of behind the scenes collaboration to get to this outcome.

I'm sensitive to the fact that 26 January means different things to different people.

I was the first to sign on to the declaration from Voices of North Sydney. It aims to differentiate ‘community-minded independents’ from ‘independents’ who are affiliated with political parties.

You can thank the Liberals for this one. They have continuously shrunk away from any attempts to amend legislation in this area. Who are they protecting? This needs to change!
